Langtang Valley/Village after the earthquakes
"In the midst of the difficulties suffered in this earthquake, by those who died and those who survived―of all ages young and old alike―bring to mind how much suffering has passed and is yet to come as if it were your own and consider giving generously in loving kindness and compassion."
―Khentrul Rinpoche |
Dear Friends,
As many of you know, devastating earthquakes have hit Nepal resulting in a broad-scale natural disaster throughout the country all the way into Tibet and India. We are very sad as there has been catastrophic loss and suffering. Our plan is to aid a remote village in Langtang, home to a dear friend, Orgyan Drolma (Chheten) whose whole village disappeared. Being remote and small they will be the last in line to receive help. For those of you moved to provide financial assistance to those affected by the earthquake, the intention for this relief fund is to create an avenue that you can be confident will go directly to the people and will be completely transparent; know that nothing will go toward overhead. There is also the special personal component of simultaneously supporting our dear friend's village as well. Khentrul Rinpoche will go to Nepal the first week of October, 2015. He will work closely with Chheten and the village leaders to assess the greatest need and deliver the donations received by Katog Choling's community outreach program (Compassion In Action).
